These are formed by the interaction of two prevailing winds, causing a series of storms or calm ongoing rain to concentrate in one location. In Washington's Puget Sound region, the Olympic mountains split wind, which then joins up again. Then the familiar convergence zone tends to form near north Seattle around the Snohomish County line, and sometimes it can rain, hail, or snow there in an area of just a few miles for hours while the rest of the region stays drier, or even under blue skies.
Late summer light rain on a cool day hits thirsty evergreen trees and dusty soil, bringing a comfortable slight dampness back to the northwest air, finally chasing away the haziness. This is our pure Pacific Northwest rain fragrance. Our most popular perfume in 2022.
