New cart system

  13 January 2025: At the end of December, I decided on new cart software and began working with tests to familiarise myself with it. A lot of people clamour for new websites on the stores they visit, but unless the stores are running in third party systems, a website change requires a lot of work. Unless it is an upgrade in the same system framework, all customer details, product and category information, and everything else needing to be transferred is probably not going to coordinate with the new database format. So, all that had to be done and ensure it was compatible, functioning (wasn't, took a lot of adjustments), and secure before the site design could be worked on. I still have a few bits here to change for appearance, and there and we know most of the oldest photos need to be replaced. Unfortunately, orders placed during the New Year sale and after were not transferred over, and neither were new accounts made during that time. If you need order information and do not have an email copy, we can send it to you. Passwords may need to be reset, but other information should have carried over.


   In this time there hasn't been opportunity to work on production, so pressed shadows are unavailable. One of our staff is home in Iraq for a visit in case the new US administration makes that difficult later on, so emails may take a little longer than usual to reply to.
