Perfume List

Current fragrances as of 1/27/2024. Scent descriptions usually begin with the dominating note(s) or highest ingredient percentage, ending with the smallest ratio or least noticeable unless otherwise phrased. We do not use a "base" in our perfumes, and isopropyl myristate has no scent. Further important individual notations may be found on each fragrance's or category page, and general perfume information is here, with more detail about ingredients here (please read these before buying). There is no type of cinnamon in any currently available perfume, and we do not ever use lavender.

Year Of The Dragon, 2024

Please check any additional information on individual product pages before purchase.

Gabjinnyeon

(갑진년 - year of the blue dragon) Highly fragrant new growth of Siberian fir needles dominates, with accents of oakmoss, vetiver, ho wood, black pepper, sandalwood, cashmeran, neroli, caramel, and a slight air of patchouli.  Please note: Fir oil, which this perfume contains a large percentage of, can have a lemony aspect. There are no actual citrus notes in this fragrance.

Kiyohime

Sweet white peaches, almost overripe, drizzled in sweet vanilla creme, with a couple singed marshmallows on the side.  Gently shake or swirl before application, as this perfume may separate.

Gold Dragon

Treasures! Warm saffron tops a blend of bittersweet resins benzoin and labdanum, earthy Somalian myrrh, and just a touch of cocoa absolute.

Jade Dragon

Our popular mango accord drenched in sweetened vanilla and a few drops of condensed milk, with slight hints of coumarin and tonka. In contrast to our tart mango perfumes, this one is sweet and decadent. Gently shake or swirl before application, as this perfume may separate.

Ryujin

Enticing saffron is the star, with softer coumarin and ambrette, on a base of dragon's blood, sandalwood, sweet benzoin, and just a drop of labdanum resin.

Dragon Of Mischief

Sweet peach slices top this bright & sparkling fragrance, followed by pink pepper, tonka, clary sage, violet leaf, bergamot, and benzoin. Gently shake or swirl before application, as this perfume may separate.

Royal Dragon

Bitter amyris, rich, smoked vanilla beans, a wisp of woodsmoke, and a few petals of yellow star jasmine. The amyris oil is very strong and this is not a sweet nor floral perfume.

Yeouiju

Similar to the scent of hot Baesuk, this fragrance is sweet steamed pears with dark honey (our vegan accord of mostly benzoin), only a thin slice of fresh ginger so it doesn't overwhelm the pear, and a couple black peppercorns.

Blushing Dragon

Sacred pink lotus dominates, followed by pink grapefruit, tart strawberry, and a sprinkling of palm sugar. A "pink" fragrance, but not very sweet.

The Vegan Dragon
Seasoned fried "chicken" sandwich in some Hong Kong vegan fast food place we just made up. Maybe it smells like ramen and fried tofu to you, or just seasoned breading. Has no actual meat-like scent.

Hạ Long

Sweet green pears and rich pink lotus top this fragrance, with slight notes of copal resin, palmarosa, and tonka.

White Dragon

Lychee cake! Buttery white cake topped with sliced fresh lychees and lychee syrup.

Autumn 2023

Crossbow Of Vengeance

Dried tobacco, freshly crushed black pepper, and the almost undetectable sweet scent of your poison-dipped bolts.

Spirit Armor

A soft, ethereal, and vaguely sweet scent envelops you with light wisps of ambrette, tonka, cedarwood, and amber.

Beneath The Forest

Beneath the trees, where sunlight never reaches and few green plants grow, mushrooms (and decay) flourish in the ever-damp soil, surrounded by darkness. Step carefully.

Amulet Of Respite

A cup of hot black tea infused with marigold (tagetes) petals, and a spoonful of raw sugar stirred in. ~Grants wearer one hour solitude with a favoured beverage.~

Fiend Slayer

The smell of a new leather jerkin, well-worn gloves, sandalwood, and a few wisps of smoke from a conjured fire. ~A wayward warlock's favoured longsword with a few years of use showing, but with luck and a bit of magic it'll hold up a while longer.~

Chaotic Good

Fresh tobacco leaves, oakmoss, bergamot, violet leaf, tonka, and a hint of wood shavings.

Spellbound

Sweet, syrupy benzoin dominates, followed by clary sage, grapefruit peel, violet, and a hint of smoky vetiver. ~A spellcaster's cluttered desks, an assortment of raw materials scattered about, stacks of books in languages few can still read, and instead of a faint crackle of magic in the air, the room feels welcoming and warm.~

Familiar

Fresh cut hardwood, syrupy-sweet Benzoin resin, dark bittersweet Labdanum, and a tiny sprinkle of bright freshly-grated ginger.

Reflectivity
Rain begins falling in the city, the smell of precipitation hitting asphalt. As you walk (or drive) toward the outskirts of town through the more rural neighborhoods, the scents of rain seem more fresh as the soil, mulch, and trees get wet. This perfume may not progress on every person the way we designed it, but it is intended to fade to a more wet earth fragrance as the top notes dissipate. This perfume shares only one accord with our popular Convergence Zone and they do not smell similar; this fragrance is more wet pavement and dirt than actual rain. The term Reflectivity is used here as a double meaning: To convey the reflection of lights on wet pavement, and as the reflectivity of radar.

Nonconforming

Styrax, tonka, and ho wood are brightened by sweeter lychee, with a breeze of petitgrain, lemon peel, violet, and litsea cubeba. Just as our Mischievous Consort was designed as what could be considered a "masculine" fragrance with a prominent mango note, this is the same concept featuring a strong lychee note.

Note: It might be obvious, but Nonconforming and No Conformista were named because of the current absurd spike in certain US states stripping rights of basic individuality and access to reasonable care. To put it very mildly. While of course fragrance cannot be gendered any more than a toothbrush could, Nonconforming was created to be like a masculine perfume, albeit unconventional, and No Conformista is more fresh & fruity with bright spices.

No Conformista

Firm, ripe mango dominates, sprinkled with a sizeable amount of crushed black pepper, a touch of ground chile guajillo, and a bit of cardamom.

Noche Cálida

Juicy lychee is followed by Damask rose absolute, a touch of Somalian myrrh, and a speck of coriander seed oil.

Fallen Angel On Holiday

Freshly cut juicy pineapple is at the forefront, with rosewood (simulated), oakmoss, a squeeze of sweet lychee, with slight hints of patchouli and angelica.

Dolls In Pink Dresses  *Discontinued 1/2024*

The smell of brand new vinyl fashion dolls, along with a few of those "fruit" scented dolls marketed to younger children in the 80s.

Conchas

A distinctive pan dulce throughout Mexico and much of the US, concha breads are made to resemble the shells they're named for. Whole milk, and often cream, enrich the flavor of these fluffy, sweet little loaves, usually topped with a sugary streusel frosting in various colors. Our fragrance is sweet yeast bread made with quite a bit of milk & cream and topped with sweet streusel containing just the barest hint of vanilla.  *Our "bread" perfumes are NOT the same bread accord with different other notes added. We do not do that. This one is a very different "bread" accord from the ones in Barmbrack or Focaccia Toscana, for example.*

Chocolatine

Also known as Pain au Chocolat, these flaky croissant-like pastries are filled with pieces of dark or semi-sweet chocolate. This is not a very sweet fragrance.

Sopapilla  *Discontinued 1/2024*

Common throughout much of Latin America in varying forms, this fried bread became a staple in Southwest US restaurants, often served as a light dessert or paired with main dishes, and is similar to Native frybread but thinner and usually triangles or rectangles. Our fragrance interpretation is of the kind commonly offered in New Mexico restaurants: Simple wheat dough leavened without yeast, fried until golden, served warm and drizzled with just a bit of honey (our own vegan accord). The frying oil note may be strong to some people.

Mochi Bread

From the name, you can assume rice flour is used to make these Korean style sesame seed rolls, but recipes vary with rice flour, tapioca flour, ordinary wheat flour, or a combination. Sometimes they're filled (with just about anything typically found in east Asian breads), sometimes plain. For this perfume, we've gone with a basic buttery (vegan accord) bread of rice & wheat flours, baked with black sesame seeds throughout. No sweetness.

Focaccia Toscana

Olive oil and a scattering of herbs including thyme and oregano top this popular flatbread.

  • Autumn 2022

Arachne & Athena

Creamy condensed milk, softly sweet and rich, swirled with a sizeable percentage of tobacco leaf absolute. Sounds like a strange combination, but the tobacco adds a warm caramel-like woody aspect without additional sweetness.

Lesvos

Soft, sensual amber, light caramel, a bit of honey and cashmere wool (vegan interpretations), the barest drop of bergamot, and a slight touch of old cedarwood.

Scent Of Dionysos

The softest frankincense entwined with sweet benzoin, black pepper, ambrette, cedarwood, a touch of amber, with just a slight air of helichrysum flowers and pear. Intended to be an ethereal "skin" scent, as in literally the scent of Dionysos.

To The Fairest

Sweet-tart apple (no spices), luxurious soft amber, ho wood, cashmere wool (vegan interpretation), the breeze over harvested fields.

Pandoramonium  *Discontinued 1/2024*
On a blanket of warm, softly resinous benzoin rests bright bergamot, black pepper, and tart plum, over a hint of cedar and teak woods, with a drop of oakmoss absolute.

Khrysothemis   *Discontinued 1/2024*

Freshly harvested fields of wheat, barley, and chickpeas, a few ripe figs, early Autumn's warm air through the olive trees, and as a play on her name, just a touch of chrysanthemums' bitter floral scent.

Storm Chaser

Misty, salty onshore winds, wet sand and soil, storm surge, broken branches, and gasoline. The gasoline note is because of chasers hurrying to the single station still with power in a small coastal town.

Lowrider  *Discontinued 1/2024*

Fresh oil in the engine & hydraulic pump, chrome V8, premium grade gasoline, a whiff of new interior vinyl trim and reupholstered seats.

Note: The perfumes below are not a specific collection, and with the exception of Under The Moonrise, were developed to be "masculine" leaning, though likely seem fairly neutral. No of course fragrance cannot be gendered, nor should be, however there are many in the world which distinctly seem to be one way or the other, depending on notes & ratios, and some people specifically seek either. Regardless of some being heavy on fruit, these are probably not going to seem very "feminine" or sweet.

Under The Moonrise

Mango is at the forefront; not candy-like but barely ripe fresh fruit, then the rich, deep fragrance of orange champaca, with a slight air of neroli and surrounding tropical greenery on a humid evening. Not a distinctly "sweet" fragrance; for a sweet mango perfume without floral notes, try No Conformista.
Mischievous Consort

Sliced mango is dominant, followed quickly by bergamot, Gurjun balsam, red cedarwood, violet leaf, and a slight touch of amyris. Not sweet, this perfume is our effort to blend a very prominent mango note into what would be traditionally called a "masculine" fragrance.

Mediterranean Merman

Saltwater is strongly dominant, followed by sun-warmed rocks intertwined with violet leaf, ambrette, sandalwood, wild orchid, and just a slight touch of pomegranate.

Scarlet Revelry

Bright, fresh Lychee (Litchi) is the star of this blend. The heavier fragrance of orange champaca follows, with vetiver and guaiac wood. Not a very "sweet" fragrance, but is very lychee-dominant.

Satyrical  *Discontinued 1/2024*

Tangy black pepper mingles with powdery amber resin, sandalwood, Ho wood, benzoin, a touch of vanilla, a drop of bergamot, and a slight hint of apricot. A slightly bitter fragrance dominated by pepper.

Balcony Tryst

Tangerine blossoms! Sweet tangerines mixed with the heavier scent of their flowers, grounded by a bit of ginger lily, soft leather, and benzoin.

Black-Tailed Deer

Fresh cut Douglas fir wood! Sweet evergreen wood and fir needles the moment it is sawed into or a branch broken.

  • Halloween 2021  (Discontinued not listed)

Danse Macacre

Slightly sweet sandalwood, amber, labdanum, and a hint of vanilla mingle with billowing woodsmoke and smoldering logs. Named for the 1874 composition by Camille Saint-Saëns.

Dream Of A Witches' Sabbath

A dark forest thick with the scents of fir boughs, pine needles, sticky sweet-smelling tree resins, snapped cedar branches, mingling with the warmer smell of cardamom. "Songe D'une Nuit Du Sabbat" from Hector Berlioz's 1830 Symphonie Fantastique.

In The Hall Of The Mountain King  (On hold, potentially discontinued)

Warm, light resins enveloped by woodsmoke, arid mountain plants, and a hint of unsweetened vanilla. A smoky herbal fragrance. Named for the 1875 composition by Edvard Grieg, the title implies a mountain troll king from Henrik Ibsen's play, "Peer Gynt".
This fragrance was discontinued in 2018, and has been brought back reformulated in 2021. The notes are very similar, but it has differences to the original.

  • Storms

Thundersnow

A little cold, slightly electric and very industrial-metallic, somewhat earthy as the mix of convection and icy temperatures don't quite have the soft peacefulness of ordinary snowfall. Contains no mint.

900 Millibars

Subtropical saltwater, occasional driftwood, acrid hints of intense natural power.  For a true ocean storm fragrance, see Black Squall. This is a "messy storm from the shore" fragrance, not a "rain" fragrance. Our rain perfume is Convergence Zone.

Haboob

Warm sand and red dirt, pulled up off the surface in dry winds.

Mesocyclone  (On hold, potentially discontinued)

Thick-feeling humid air, and scents of harvested fields mixing with a hint of rain.

The most "perfumey" of this collection, and is not supposed to be a realistic interpretation of an atmospheric condition.

Convergence Zone

Late summer light rain on a cool day hits thirsty evergreen trees and dusty soil, bringing a comfortable slight dampness back to the northwest air, finally chasing away the haziness.

Southwest Monsoon  *Discontinued*

With a breeze of white sage, this fragrance was designed to parallel the scents of dry, cracked desert soil turning to mud while the rain it can't absorb runs toward roadways.

The Marshmallow Prince

Lightly toasted marshmallows and marshmallow creme, black pepper oil, deepened with benzoin & bittersweet dark labdanum resins.  Sensitivity notice: Contains a sizable percentage of black pepper essential oil.

  • Autumn 2020  (Discontinued not listed)

Aerobraking

The combination of warm machine oil, cold titanium, and the slightly stale scent of re-circulated oxygen.

Skiing On Europa

The atmosphere of a distant moon, not as habitable for mammals as Earth, the thin air reminiscent of high mountain elevations before snowfall. Cold, and ozonic like petrichor.

Serval

With a distinctive appearance and long legs for jumping high, Servals inhabit many countries across Africa, including Nigeria. Which is where you can find the popular treat, Puff-Puffs. These can be found with various flavors and added ingredients (often spices or even onion). Yeast dough, raw and white sugar, a drop of vanilla, the scent of fresh cooking oil.

Just A Nip

Fresh catnip from spring gardens (before it has been loved on and squashed by neighbor kitties), a little Ceylon tea, a splash of vanilla and just a touch of sweetened cream. Envisioned as a hot or chilled tea, this is very heavy on the (actual) catnip but neither minty nor sharply herbal. This perfume is created from actual fresh catnip and only produced in the growing season, generally late spring through autumn.

Heirloom Tomato Leaf

Rows of tomato plants on a humid day, their unmistakable heavy green fragrance filling the air and clinging to your hands as you touch the leaves.

This is not a solitary note perfume, but includes significant notes of damp soil and humid air.

Ararat Honey & Apricots

Dark wildflower honey is served alongside apricot jam, rich with a slight bittersweetness. Assumed to be native to the fertile soils of Armenia, apricots are abundant in summer, widely grown in the Ararat valley. The "honey" in our perfumes is a proprietary accord consisting primarily of benzoin resin.

Armenian Rose

The fragrance of dark rose petals and sweeter pink roses with the earthy scent of native lilies.

Arctic Foxes Having Cake

Airy angel food cake with a messy crust, just out of the oven with the barest background of various sweet kitchen scents.

Forest Grandeur

A forest just at the base of the mountains in autumn's first light snow, dominated by fir, hemlock, western red cedar (not a true cedar, but a cypress), and various pines. They grow so close together in some spots that in the first few light snows of the season, the ground is nearly dry under the branches, and walking through you still get the scent of warm earth and brown needles beneath the evergreen boughs and sweet wood scents.

Polar Bear: The Fragrance

Vanilla, vanilla, and more vanilla, creamy but not overly sweet, intertwined with just a bit of palo santo and sandalwood, then cooled with crisp peppermint.

  • Shipwreck  (Discontinued not listed)

Black Squall

Open waters of the deepest blue, eerily calm before the looming arcus cloud in the distance bears down, revealing the wrath of the storm behind it. There was little left to do now but watch and wait.

Cold and clean-smelling seawater, ozonic air, now and then a little olive oil from the lamps. Note: This perfume contains kelp, which may smell strong to some users.

Smugglers' Tea
With inflated prices and high duties, thanks to the East India Company's monopoly on the trade, smuggling was a more profitable, albeit dangerous, avenue to bring tea from China to merchants in Europe.

Black tea leaves, a slight air of smoky green tea leaves, hints of tobacco, and local wood from the packing crates.

Barmbrack
Buttery fresh baked bread with a thick crust, slightly yeasty but not sour.
Barmbrack (Bairín Breac) is a slightly sweet bread with dried fruit, and topped with fresh butter, traditionally baked with small divination objects inside and served at Samhain. While our perfume interpretation does not have actual fruit notes, it may seem to have a slight sweetness to some people.

  • Autumn/Halloween 2017

Lucky Black Cat

Black pepper dominates, with a touch of soft amber, then papyrus and a hint of sandalwood. Sensitivity notice: Contains a sizable percentage of black pepper essential oil.

Aasgard Pass
Blackened Well-done marshmallow kabobs over a campfire skewered on a fir twig.

Marshmalloud
Singed marshmallows on a base primarily of oud, amber, and sandalwood. A rich but bright fragrance.

Snoqualmie Lodge
Crisp October mountain air, fir and pine trees, rocky soil, apples, fallen leaves, warmth from the hearth. We added some leather because you'll want a jacket.

___________________________________________________

Maine Coon

Syrupy benzoin resin dominates, followed by sandalwood, a touch of cardamom, the barest hint of two vanillas, and a bit of amber to make a warm and welcoming fragrance.

Kitten Tummies
Fluffy soft kitten, snuggled up on her favorite blanket. Actual notes: Marshmallow, sweet benzoin resin, a touch of sandalwood, sugar, and a hint of myrrh. A light fragrance.

Malachite Bracelet

Herbal, slightly sweet fresh basil with a bare hint of soil . Not minty or overly sharp, close to the scent left on your hands after picking the fresh leaves.   Please note: Originally formulated in 2017, but not released with the Ancient Rome collection as we deemed it too simplistic at the time. Since then we have had requests for a true basil fragrance. Which is a little tricky because there are many varieties of basil which all smell (and taste) somewhat different, many having a licorice/anise-like taste (Italian Large Leaf or Spicy Globe for instance). So the basil from your grocery store may differ from what you've grown, which may differ greatly from the basil(s) commonly used for its fragrant properties 2000 years ago well before use as culinary herb. Unlike the other perfumes in our Ancient Rome collection, this blend is not entirely natural botanicals, about 60%. This does not contain Holy (Tulsi) Basil.
